The HPTA congratulates Hopkinton High School Senior Heather Clark on being named November Student of the Month. Here is what HHS staff members had to say about Heather:

Heather Clark has demonstrated tremendous personal growth over the last four years. Due to many external circumstances, Heather’s performance in school during her freshman and sophomore years was less than stellar. Rather than make excuses, however, Heather took charge of her academics and went from a 1.2 GPA to an amazing 3.3! Now, as a senior, her progress report showed all A’s and one B. Heather has matured so much and is a great example of resilience, kindness, and self-belief. She also tries really hard to do the right thing and is actively involved in her school and extra-curricular activities.

Heather is an amazing young woman! She is a hard working student, a dedicated and talented cheerleader, a strong self-advocate, and an example of strength and perseverance.

Heather is an incredible asset to her team she demonstrates positive leadership, sportsmanship, selflessness & most importantly heart each and every day. She is incredibly committed to the sport and her team and with that was recently name TRI VALLEY LEAGUE ALL STAR & team Most Valuable Player! Simply put she embodies the idealistic student athlete.

The Student of the Month award is an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of our students. The criteria for this nomination/recognition is simple and left to the staff’s discretion. They could nominate a student who has shown improvement academically, behaviorally, emotionally etc. or a student who is consistently kind to others. They could also nominate a student who did a really nice thing for someone else selflessly or someone who has shown a new side of themselves the definition is open to your interpretation. Once students are nominated by particular teachers, a ballot is composed and sent out to all of the teachers. Then the voting begins. After a student is selected, they will receive a $50 gift certificate from the ReMax McBride Team and then a $50 Barnes and Noble gift card provided by the HPTA.
